Rich Hopkins finishes in Top 3 at
2006 World Championship of Public Speaking!

On August 26th, Rich took 3rd Place among 10 speakers from around the world competing for the title of Toastmaster's 2006 World Champion of Public Speaking. Sharing his message about living with the Perspective, Passion, and Persistence of a child with 1800 audience members and 21 judges, his speech "What We Knew Then" elicited laughter and audience participation from beginning to end.

Each year, 30,000 contestants compete for the right to be among the final ten speakers competing for this coveted title. Rich survived 5 rounds of competition to earn the right to speak on the world stage in Washington D.C. at the 2006 Toastmasters International Annual Conference. On June 3rd, he became the first Spokane resident in over 40 years to win the Region I contest, held this year in Vancouver, British Columbia, garnering the right to represent Northern California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Idaho, Utah and Nevada in the upcoming World Championship.
